We kick off our residency at Tricia's fabulous chamber music festival dedicated to the intersection of music and literature with a program centered around Haydn. Considered ‘Father of the String Quartet’ Haydn’s elevates the medium to such heights that it becomes the ultimate form in which a composer may demonstrate his or her purest artistic skill. In this program, Haydn’s last completed string quartet is presented alongside Haydn-inspired string quartets by Caroline Shaw and Mozart.
- Haydn String Quartet in F Major, Op. 77 No. 2
- Caroline Shaw Entr’acte for String Quartet (2011)
- Mozart String quartet No. 19 in C Major, K. 465 “Dissonance”
